The Kids will Love the Popcorn Hat Players at the Children's Theatre. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is a wonderful place to visit, with a variety of things for travelers (as well as locals) to see and do. One of the nicest things that one can do while in town is take in a show at the Gamut Theatre, which is located in Strawberry Square.

The Gamut is also home to the Popcorn Hat Players, which is a wonderful children's theatre. Anyone who has kids and who is visiting the Harrisburg area should try to make time to take in a show. The whole family will be pleased with all of the fun shows the theatre offers.

The Popcorn Hat Players have been entertaining families since 1993. They recreate fairy tales, fables, and folk tales, giving them fun and new twists so that even a story you think you know will have you laughing and on the edge of your seat. Harrisburg Magazine calls the Popcorn Hat Players "Simply the Best" when it comes to children's entertainment.

The following are a few of the upcoming shows that are sure to thrill and entertain everyone in the family.

Rapunzel, the classic fairy tale, is re-imagined and offers a fresh and modern take on the story. The kids even get to use their imagination and help participate in the show.

Rollicking Ripsnorters – American Tall Tales features retellings of some of the wildest stories to have ever come out of America's past. Some of the tall tales included are John Henry, Paul Bunyan, and Pecos Bill.

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town follows the adventure of Tinker the Elf as he and some hilarious characters help Santa Claus find a lost bag of toys and save Christmas. The play is a humorous story in the tradition of all of those holiday specials that everyone remembers so fondly.

Sleeping Beauty is another retelling of a classic fairy tale. Again, the children will have a great time as they watch the action unfold and wonder if all will live happily ever after. Puss in Boots, Pinocchio, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears are also on the scheduled.

Tickets for kids and adults are $7, which makes the theatre as affordable as it is fun.
