The Community Arts Center in Williamsport, Pennsylvania is one of the East Coast’s finest performance venues. The Community Arts Center is a fully-restored 1920’s movie palace combining a blend of architectural flavors including Spanish, English and Oriental. The grand lobby of the theater features meticulously restored art deco painting in the ceiling coves and dual staircases 
leading to the mezzanine, loge and balcony levels of the venue. The carpet was manufactured to exactly match the carpet that covered the floors when the building was opened in 1928 as the Capitol Theater. In keeping with the “Moorish Art Deco” theme of the theater, the grand lobby wall treatment is intended to create the illusion of leather. After its 11 million dollar restoration, its interior is certainly most beautiful and has become the showplace of Williamsport.
The Community Arts Center hosts pop, country, Christian, Broadway, comedy and children’s productions throughout the season. Family entertainment is a feature of the Community Arts Center. There are shows appropriate for all ages…from kids to adults. A show at CAC is perfect for a memorable family night out. New, classic and independent films are also shown throughout the year. A typical season runs from September through May, with scattered performances throughout the summer months.
Series memberships are available. When patrons order five or more shows from the season brochure, they automatically become Series Members. As Series Members, they get the added perk of being able to place their orders before the season goes on sale to the public. This will allow them to get first pick of seating.
