Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Has Something for Everyone

Located in the Philadelphia Countryside Region …

Good grief! Who would have thought that the characters from the beloved cartoon strip Peanuts, by the late Charles Schulz, would be key members of one of the most famous theme parks in Pennsylvania? Certainly not Solomon Dorney, the entrepreneur who started Dorney Park all the way back in 1870! Yet, kids of all ages can interact with Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, and Snoopy, along with the rest of the Peanuts gang while they check out all the rides and attractions the park has to offer.

Although Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom started as a small, modest place full of games and carousels, it now spreads itself over 200 acres and boasts more than 100 of the most thrilling rides, shows, and attractions in the United States. The newest addition to their lineup of incredible roller coasters is the infamous Voodoo. They also have one of the largest collections of water rides in history, and this can make the sometimes oppressive heat of a Pennsylvania summer a lot more bearable.

If riding on some of the tallest and fastest coasters in the Northeast isn’t something that you find appealing, you don’t have to worry. There are tons of other rides for those who enjoy a milder experience as well, such as taking a trip on a replica steam powered train or a ride in a swan boat. Kids of all ages are going to want to visit Camp Snoopy, where they can play and interact with characters from Peanuts. The little ones can enjoy plenty of rides that are their own size and pace as well, including Flying Ace and Camp Bus.

When you need a break from all of the exciting rides, you might want to check out some of the award winning shows the park has to offer. You can also play games, visit the arcades, and do some shopping. In addition to the souvenirs that you might come to expect from a theme park, you can also purchase some unique arts and crafts.

Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom both open on Memorial Day weekend. In September and October, the park takes on a creepier persona for their fun Halloweekends.

You can find plenty of places to stay in the area. A stay at the Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom is sure to be a blast for everyone in your family. The park is one of those places that truly have something for everyone.
